Floodplain modeling and management

GKCC is very familiar with the requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and FEMA’s guidelines for flood hazard mapping.  Our recent projects include map updates for local communities working with Urban Drainage and Flood Control District in the Denver Metropolitan area.  GKCC has prepared letters of map revision for large transportation projects and river development projects. 

Our approach is to first meet the requirements of the local community’s floodplain management and development regulations.  We then conduct an internal review of the technical documentation to make sure that it meets FEMA requirements.  This advanced work helps to expedite the map revision process.
